My Computers

I actually have 2 computer towers in my room. One main one I use every day and another "spare" that I have.

My Main machine runs with an AMD Duron 1200Mhz Processor on a Soltek SL-75KAV. It may be old and not up to today's standards but it works! Hopefully it'll stay that way until I can afford the cost of upgrading the processor (plus the obligatory motherboard upgrade, RAM, and possibly graphics).

My Other machine is one that used to belong to a friend who's computer I help with sometimes. She upgraded to a brand new Athlon64 3000+ and had the old machine going spare, so I said I'd take it.
This machine runs an Intel Celeron 300A. Yep, it's slow and cheap, but it works and it's bloody immaculate inside! With the miniATX motherboard it looks mostly empty. I've got it running a hybrid of Windows 98SE/SP1 and Millennium Edition, upgraded from vanilla Win98SE using the Unofficial Windows 98SE Service Pack v2 and a program called 98SE2ME that transplants the GOOD bits of WindowsME into an existing Win98SE installation. It rocks and runs nicely when my main PC dies or is too busy doing something.

I have both machines, plus mum's, networked into my Linksys WAG354-G Wireless-G ADSL Router, connected into the phoneline and our Eclipse Flex500 ADSL.
I've yet to use the wireless capabilities of the router, although (again, when I can afford it) I have my eye on the new Palm T|X which has Wifi, and would love to be able to just sit in bed and go on the net, or even sit in the livingroom and check a website quickly without either commandeering mum's PC or going through to mine.
